We are so excited for our Annual Reading Week which includes so many incredible events and activities! Please, mark your calendars and get ready for the following reading happenings around campus!
First Ever Sleepy Panthers Event – Thursday, August 29th at 6pm
Join me on Facebook as I read a bedtime story to the Panthers! We have received approval from various authors to read their amazing stories each month and will be starting our August story with Bedtime for Batman by Michael Dahl and published by Capstone & DC. Mark your calendars for the last Thursday of every month at 6pm for a new story!
Scholastic Book Fair– Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair will run all week during Reading Week. Students may come peruse the amazing books available between 7:30 am – 7:50am on Monday – Friday. Families will also be able to purchase items at the fair during our Family Literacy Night on Tuesday, September 10th.
Read-A-Thon– Students will each be given a Reading Log to keep track of their reading for the week. Although it is a great way to challenge yourself to read more just for fun, prizes will also be available for the individuals who read the most from each class and the individual who read the most for all of PPA!
Class Winners: Week Long Dress-Down Pass
School Winner: Free Book of Choice & Principal for the Day
Family Literacy Night: Tuesday, September 10th at 5:00 pm– Join us for our Family Literacy Night where we will have resources available to support your student’s love of reading. The Book Fair will also be available for those unable to attend the morning times.
Little Red Hen Performance: Wednesday, September 11th – Preschool through second grade students will get to enjoy a puppet show performance by the Great Arizona Puppet Theater.
Storybook Character Dress-Up Day: Friday, September 13th– Students may dress up as their favorite storybook character! Make sure to bring the storybook containing you character to school on Friday. Please, ensure that your spirit attire is school-appropriate (no sleeveless attire, no open toe shoes, no toy/prop weapons, appropriate).
Incredibly, we are already moving into our second full week of school and our Panthers have been diving right into the school year. Sign-ups for our Parent/Teacher Conferences on August 29th and August 30th are now active. These conferences offer an incredible opportunity to touch base with your student’s teacher and see how the year is progressing, review benchmark testing data, and discuss observations/goals for the year.
We pride ourselves on our excellent communication at Pinnacle so please contact us sooner if there is any concern/issue you would like to discuss at any time. Furthermore, please feel comfortable requesting a meeting with your student’s teacher at any time (no need to wait for a formal conference).
Please, use the links below or on the website to access the sign-ups for each teacher. Sign-ups will be available until August 26th. After this time, please email the teacher directly to see if there are additional slots available.
