Mark Your Calendars for Reading Happenings at Pinnacle!

We are so excited for our Annual Reading Week which includes so many incredible events and activities! Please, mark your calendars and get ready for the following reading happenings around campus!

First Ever Sleepy Panthers Event – Thursday, August 29th at 6pm

Join me on Facebook as I read a bedtime story to the Panthers! We have received approval from various authors to read their amazing stories each month and will be starting our August story with Bedtime for Batman by Michael Dahl and published by Capstone & DC. Mark your calendars for the last Thursday of every month at 6pm for a new story!

Weeklong Events

Scholastic Book Fair– Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair will run all week during Reading Week. Students may come peruse the amazing books available between 7:30 am – 7:50am on Monday – Friday. Families will also be able to purchase items at the fair during our Family Literacy Night on Tuesday, September 10th.

Read-A-Thon– Students will each be given a Reading Log to keep track of their reading for the week. Although it is a great way to challenge yourself to read more just for fun, prizes will also be available for the individuals who read the most from each class and the individual who read the most for all of PPA!

School Winner: Free Book of Choice & Principal for the Day

Weekday Events

Family Literacy Night: Tuesday, September 10th at 5:00 pm– Join us for our Family Literacy Night where we will have resources available to support your student’s love of reading. The Book Fair will also be available for those unable to attend the morning times.

Little Red Hen Performance: Wednesday, September 11th – Preschool through second grade students will get to enjoy a puppet show performance by the Great Arizona Puppet Theater.

Storybook Character Dress-Up Day: Friday, September 13th– Students may dress up as their favorite storybook character! Make sure to bring the storybook containing you character to school on Friday. Please, ensure that your spirit attire is school-appropriate (no sleeveless attire, no open toe shoes, no toy/prop weapons, appropriate).

Congratulations Fallon Family!

We are so happy to announce the birth of Sable Mae Fallon, born on 9/18! Sable was born at 6:33 pm weighing 5 pounds and 7 ounces.  Congratulations to Mrs. Fallon and the entire Fallon family!

During Mrs. Fallon’s leave experienced Pointe Schools personnel will be available to support the needs of our students, parents/guardians, and faculty.  You will have the opportunity to meet each of the individuals who will rotate as Acting Principal’s tomorrow night during Pinnacle’s Annual Literacy Night.


Read-A-Thon Prize

We are getting excited for our Annual Reading Week and the Scholastic Book Fair next week, September 18th – September 22nd. Students will be given Reading Logs on Friday, September 15th for the Read-A-Thon and will compete with students in their class to see who can read the most!

Winners from each class will get to have a special catered Lunch with the Principal and will receive a book of their choice! The winning reader from the whole school will not only receive these prizes but will also get an extra special prize but I just could not decide which one to choose from so I am leaving it up to you Panthers! Please, use the poll below to make your selection for the Principal Prize for the Read-A-Thon!

Compass Week Fun

What a GREAT week!!  We have had so much fun!  We became engineers, we created puppets, we used our imagination to create wonderful stories, we became actors, we learned all kinds of amazing, we went on a scavenger hunt, we used mystery items to create wonderful stories, we texted stories back and forth, we read A LOT, and we ended the AMAZING week off with a super fun Storybook Character Parade throughout the school!!!
