Thank you Readers!

Our Annual Read-A-Thon was such an amazing success! Thank you all for doing such a great job reading at home. Although all of the Panthers did a phenomenal job reading, the readers who read the most from each class won a book of their choice from the fair. Great job, Panthers!

Pinnacle’s Not-So-Spooky Night of Lights

🍂 Mark your calendars and come to our free Trunk-or-Treat/Block Party alternative for the kiddos! They will get to dress-up and drive through our light display, collecting treats along the way 🎃

This free community event will offer an opportunity for families to welcome the fall season with a not-so-spooky light display! Come dressed-up in your favorite costume and drive through our display, collecting treats throughout the trip including candy, toys, and more!

To assist in preventing any potential traffic issues, we have created tickets through Eventbrite.com. Tickets are completely free but will allow us to stagger guests as they enjoy the event. Please, use the link above to sign-up for a time slot to enter the display (per car, not per person). Thank you!

Happy Monkey Churros will also be joining us in the parking lot and will be accepting cash or card for their yummy treats!

Happy Field Day!

IMG_3982.JPG

As you all know, tomorrow would have been our final 4A Day of the year, Field Day! This is one of our biggest events of the year where the kiddos get absolutely soaked and have a blast. Although we cannot celebrate together in our usual Panther fashion, we have created some Field Day Goody Bags with some activity packets and little treats inside for our students.

If you would like a goody bag, please come on by the office tomorrow or next week and give us a call when you arrive. If you have not picked up your student supplies and would also like to pick these up at the same time, please call the office 24 hours in advance to allow us time to prepare the materials.

If you would like a sneak peak at the goody bag items, please join me live tomorrow on Pinnacle’s Facebook for our Panther Morning Meeting (with special guests, Ms. Melissa and Mr. Tim from North Pointe).

Happy Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day, Panthers! I would love to hear about all of the unique and fun ways you will be celebrating this important day so please share, share, share!

I began my own Earth day adventures with our Morning Meeting where I read The Krayon Kids: Going Green written by Karen Marquez Morales and illustrated by Walter Policelli.

Ms. Marques was suppose to be visiting our campus next week to share her books with our kiddos in person. Although we will not be able to enjoy the author event this year, we will certainly try to have her come in the future!

Thank you, Ms. Marquez for allowing us the privilege of reading your wonderful books and we hope to schedule another event with you soon! Please, check out the Krayon Kids website for more information on Ms. Marquez’ books and lots of great resources! Here is a direct link to a free Krayon Kids activity book provided by the author.

Art Challenge

Students in Mrs. Renoth’s class were given the challenge, inspired by the J. Paul Getty Museum in California, to recreate works of art using materials around their home. We have had some great submissions already including American Gothic by Grant Wood and Girl with a Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer. If you choose to participate (2nd graders and non-secondgraders alike), please share your creations! I am currently trying to decide on what I should make… so many options!

COVID-19 Time Capsule Resource

Good morning, Panthers! I hope you are all doing well and had wonderful weekends. We are off to a great start to Week 2 of our distance learning opportunities. Weekly packets are still available for pick up and will continue to be each Monday unless absolutely necessary for us to cease operation 🙂 Our office is open Monday – Friday between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm to assist you!

There is a fabulous time capsule pdf circulating the internet from the Etsy shop, LONG Creations. It offers families a great free resource to document this historic time with your kiddos. Have a safe week, Panthers!

Goodnight Panthers!

Happy April Fool’s Day, Panthers and Day 3 of distance learning! Thank you to those of you who joined me for the Pledge of Allegiance and my “bedtime” story event. I will continue to share resources throughout the closure to support you all through this time. Today’s resource is some creative shenanigans and projects in honor of April Fool’s Day.

As I said in the Morning Meeting today, I truly miss all of the silly stories I usually hear on this day each year so if you would like to share any fun April Fool stories or if you just want to say “hello” please, reach out! I miss you all!

Dictionary Game & Extended Closure Learning Updates

Thank you to those of you who joined me for the Pledge of Allegiance and the story this morning. For those individuals who did not watch the stream, today’s resource was a physical copy of a dictionary!

Bound dictionaries are amazing tools even in a time of instant online searches. Students can practice alphabetizing words, looking up definitions, learning new words that they never knew existed and more. One of my favorite games to do with kiddos is a to challenge them to see who can find a word first!

This morning, I found a phenomenal list of activities originally posted on Wadewhitehead.com that I am sure our students will love!

Busy Week Announcements!

This week is filled with excitement… and from my understanding lots of potential rain! Because of our wet weather forecast, the Kinder and First grade field to the World Wildlife Zoo will be rescheduled. Keep an eye out for updates on the new date!

There are no more clubs (including Talent Show practice) for this week. Sign-up for 4th quarter clubs will begin during Spring Break!

Make sure to bring all of those hard-earned Panther Bucks for our Quarter 2 Swap Shop on Thursday afternoon.

Friday will be our third 4A Day of the year, Arts Explosion, so please make sure your kiddo wears their class shirt or color! If you would like to come assist with any of our artsy stations, please let me know!
